How to Select Right Silo Capacity for Different Industry

Steel silos are vastly used almost for all grain and food processing industry, mainly for grain and oil production factories, grain storage center and grain port etc. Here generally introduce the selection of silo size in different industries according to our research and experience.

1. Big scale edible oil production factory and corn deep processing factory
For the big scale edible oil production factory with capacity above 2000t/d, the total storage amount must be 50000-80000tons. And for soybean oil production factory with single soybean seeds storage requirement, the single silo capacity be 10000-15000ton considering for best economical consideration. For big scale corn deep processing factory, also suggest to build 10000-15000ton single silo size.
2. Middle scale edible oil production factory and corn deep processing factory
For middle scale edible oil production factory and corn deep processing factory, suggest to use single silo size at 5000-7500ton.
3.Flour mill
A flour mill will use different types of wheat, thus requires more sets of silos, suggest to use single silo size at 1000-2000ton and decide the total silo capacity according to flour mill size.
4. Malt and beer industry
For malt and beer industry, the suggested single silo size at 1000-1500ton.
5. Feed mill processing industry
For feed mill processing industry, the suggested single silo size at 1000-3000ton.
6.Rice processing industry
At present, the single silo size is normally within 1000ton for rice processing industry
7.Bulk grain transportation center
For bulk grain truck transportation or bagging center, the single silo size is normally within 500ton hopper type to facilitate truck loading.
8. Port Grain Storage Center
Sea port grain middle transportation center requires big silo total volume and fast transportation. Normally the single silo size at 5000-15000ton and total around 1000000ton. It uses sweep auger for grain discharging.

All in all, the single silo size and amount is determined by the requirement of grain income and outcome needs. Above is only for reference.
