From November 5 to 7, 2024, the Ministry of Finance held the 2024 China International Public Procurement Forum in the Lingang New Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone. As a representative of China's leading enterprises in the field of bulk material storage and transportation, SRON Company was invited to attend this event.
The China International Public Procurement Forum is a high-level forum in the field of public procurement hosted by the Ministry of Finance. Themed on “sharing the future of the public procurement market”, Wang Dongwei, the deputy minister of finance, delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the forum. Mr. Fabrizio Hochschild , former Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Senior Advisor to the United Nations Center for Sustainable Development Goals and Leadership Development, Mr. Anil Kishora, Vice President of the BRICS New Development Bank, Mr. Perettier Philippe, Department of Intellectual Property, Government Procurement and Competition of the World Trade Organization Secretariat, and Mr. Kim Hun, Vice President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, delivered keynote speeches. More than 300 representatives and procurement officials from international organizations such as the World Trade Organization, relevant United Nations agencies, and multilateral financial institutions such as the World Bank, as well as heads of relevant central units and national government procurement regulatory departments, and representatives of relevant chambers of commerce and suppliers, attended the event.
In this event, Mr. Wen Peng, Chairman of SRON Company, had discussions with guests from the Asian Development Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, International Fund for Agricultural Development, United Nations Industrial Development Organization and other institutions. Mr. Wen Peng introduced to them SRON’s mature experience in the field of industrial infrastructure construction for bulk material storage and handling in the building materials, grain, minerals, coal, energy, metallurgy, chemical and other industries, and its active role in promoting the sustainable development of the international public procurement supply chain. Mr. Wen Peng hopes to use this event as an opportunity to reach pragmatic cooperation with multilateral financial institutions to provide support for expanding SRON Company’s owners’ funding channels. Through this event, it is of great significance for SRON to deeply understand the latest trends and procurement rules of international public procurement, expand international market channels, and improve SRON's competitiveness in the international public procurement market.
